Obituary for Andrew C Ockay

Andrew C Ockay, 88 passed away peacefully Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Meadow Lakes in East Windsor, NJ.

Born in Bayonne, NJ he resided in Roselle Park, NJ for most of his life.

Mr. Ockay was a former employee of Western Electric with over 44 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church in Roselle and was a member of the Pioneers Club of Western Electric.

Andrew was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Rev. Msgr. Clement Ockay and John Ockay.

Andrew is survived by his wife Mary Szymanski, four daughters, Elaine (Gerard) Ulias, Barbara Ockay, Joan Ockay and Marion (Rob) Kallok, one son, Clement Ockay, one sister, Lucy Kackos, two grandsons, Bobby and Richie.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am Thursday, August 23, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown. Calling hours will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:30am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Funeral arrangements are being held under the direction of the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown.
