Wilfred Joseph Jeffers, 81 of East Windsor, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Jeffers was born in Brooklyn, NY, and he attended Boys High School.
He worked 40 years for ARA in New York and Philadelphia; in 1974 he was transferred to New Jersey and moved to East Windsor. After his retirement Wilfred worked for Mercer County for 17 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 1000, Trenton.
Wilfred enjoyed his family and loved traveling. He was the beloved husband of Ondina, devoted father of Richard, father-in-law of Pamela, cherished grandfather of Taylor and Darcel. He is also survived by his sisters, Irene Ramos, Vivian Trott, brother, Norman Jeffers. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Friday, Dec. 21 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Friends and family may call at the church from 8:30am until the time of the service. Interment will be held Monday, Dec. 24 at 10:30am at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wilfred’s name may be made to the East Windsor Senior Center, 40 Lanning Boulevard, East Windsor, NJ 08520.
