Condolence: My deepest sympathies go out to the Ata family. When I joined the NYC Housing Authority in 2004, Nabil was Deputy Director of the Real Estate Division in the Finance Department. Always dapper, not only was Nabil the best dresser in the department, he was a true gentleman. I'll always remember Nabil as a man of impeccable character. I'm proud and honored to have known him.

I was so sad to hear of Uncle Nabil's passing. I know he had been receiving medical care for a while and was working hard during therapy and rehabilitation. My memories of Uncle Nabil center around get-togethers at your apartment and at our old house in Rockaway, NJ when I was a little kid. His smile, warmth, and welcoming presence always made me feel at ease. When I saw him here in Rochester, NY in 2003, it seemed that not much time had passed at all.

I hope your memories of him bring you peace, comfort, and strength in the months and years ahead. Our thoughts are with you and your family during these difficult times.

How he loved his Alex,,,,,always enjoyed walking around the yard and admiring his flowers in the gardens....When I think of him I think of a very gentle, kind, gracious man. Condolence: Uncle Nabil, as we called him, was my godfather. Throughout the years he continued to remember me when I was wed to my wonderful husband and at the birth of my first child. His cards were heartfelt and I appreciate that he never forgot me. I will never forget him & his generosity.

Condolence: Dearest Tante Hadia, Cousins Nancy, Nader and Alex,
You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Uncle Nabil will always hold a very special place in my heart. My mom told me that one of the very first words out of my mouth after mamma and dadda, was "Bil and Haya" (baby talk for Nabil and Hadia). I remember always riding on top of his shoulders for the best piggyback rides around the house ever! I was always scared that I'd hit the ceiling, but I knew I never would because Uncle Nabil would keep me safe. :) We have spent so many fun times together over the years, and I chose to share a few of those moments. The first pic is one from 1980, with Nancy as a baby and me as a little tot. Also attached are pics from our latest fun visits in 2014. These moments will forever live in my heart, and my mom's heart as well. RIP Uncle Nabil and please say hello to my Dad, Tata and Giddou up in Heaven. We love you forever...xoxoxo
