William “Bill” Thomas Porter Jr., 75, of Roosevelt passed away at his home with his beloved family by his side on April 8, 2016. Born June 1, 1940 in Mearsville, VA; he was a long time resident of the Hightstown/Roosevelt area.
Bill was a graduate of Hightstown High School Class of 1959. Before his retirement he worked 30 years for Mideast Aluminum in South Brunswick. He was a life member of Bass Masters and was an avid salt and fresh water fisherman.
Predeceased by his parents, William Sr. and Cora (nee. Marble) Porter and seven siblings. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 56 years, Alana (nee. Turner) Porter, his daughter, A. Beryl Porter, his son, William Thomas Porter III (Joy), foster brother/son, Robert Earl Brown and a much loved granddaughter, Olivia Porter. He is also survived by nieces and nephews that he loved dearly and two sisters, Barbara Jean Porter and Arlene Porter.
Funeral services and interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, Hightstown.
