Anna Cavanaugh (nee Uhrin), 86, of East Windsor, NJ, died peacefully at her home early Friday morning, July 29, 2016.
Born in Metuchen, NJ, Anna spent most of her life in New Jersey except for a few years where she and her husband lived in Madison, NY owning The Hucksters Restaurant. In 1985 she returned to East Windsor, NJ and worked for Bell Atlantic in Burlington, NJ until her retirement in 1994. Active in the congregation of St. Anthony’s of Padua in Hightstown, Anna was known for her fierce and independent personality and also as a dear and loving friend, always eager to share.
Beloved wife to the late Joseph Cavanaugh, Anna is survived by her sister Mary Mayor of Ormand Beach, FL; niece Lynn Humlan of Hartsdale, VA; nephews Robert Whitley and Roger Whitley of Chambersburg, PA and nephew Michael Uchrin Sr. of Paradise Valley, AZ.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.barlowzimmer.com. A memorial Mass will be offered Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Hightstown. Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the mass in church. Interment will be privately held at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, NJ.
