Dominic F. Palazzo, 88, of West Windsor, NJ passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY; to Sebastiano and Maria Palazzo and was predeceased by one sister Josephine.
He attended Colombia University on academic scholarship and earned his PHD in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Mobil Oil Corporation in R&D including their synthetic fuels division for 31 years. While at Mobil he led efforts in the development of synthetic fuels from coal sands. He was an avid golfer and was a very active member of the Sons of Italy Piazza Nuova Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth, one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Robert and Pamela Palazzo of Sea Cliff, NY; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and William Mikula of Cranbury, NJ and Laura and Robert Dean of Furlong, PA. He also leaves 6 grandchildren, Michael, Katelyn, Krysta and her husband Philip, Matthew, Robert and Erin. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and lifelong friend, Joseph Sirna and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Angela Astorino and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Monday, Oct. 17 at St. David the King RC Church, 1 Village Road, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Calling hours will be held from 3pm to 6pm on Sunday, Oct. 16 at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. In lieu of flowers donations in Dominic’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street #301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
