Gerald Alexander Finkelstein, 85, of East Windsor passed away peacefully at The Elms of Cranbury on Friday, October 21, 2016. Born in New York City, he has lived happily in the same home he purchased over 40 years ago in East Windsor.
Mr. Finkelstein graduated in 1953 from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He served during the Korean War with the Army's 578th Engineering Company in Fort Hood, TX.
An Inventory Controller for Concord Fabrics, commuting daily to New York City for over 30 years, he was presently retired.
Mr. Finkelstein was a dedicated father and husband and profoundly missed his wife of 43 years, Carol, who predeceased him in 2008.
Mr. Finkelstein will be deeply missed by his family: his son Mark Finkelstein, of Shrewsbury, MA and his longtime girlfriend, Mary Munson; his daughter Amy and her husband J. Christian Fort, of St. Petersburg, FL, his grandson Shane Fort; his sister Naomi Blanck, of Brooklyn, NY; and his sister-in-law Fran Yermack, of Queens, NY.
Funeral services will be held at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 12 pm. Interment will follow at CloverLeaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge, NJ.
