Henry S. Miller, 94, of Monroe died on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Cranbury Center, Monroe Township. Born in Denver, Colorado, he lived in New Providence, New Jersey for 35 years before moving to Monroe Township nine years ago.
Mr. Miller was a veteran of World War II having served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a pilot on a B-24 Liberator and flew 52 missions over enemy territory. He was very proud that he never lost a single man during his missions. Mr. Miller was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with three oak leaf clusters for a mission he flew over the Ploesti oil fields. During his professional career Henry worked for Prudential Insurance Company until his retirement in 1986.
He was predeceased in 2012 by his wife, Marguerite Miller. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kristina and Stephen Teller of Hightstown; one son Bartlett of Monroe Township; two granddaughters, Megan and Kimberly of Hightstown.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 9:30am to 10:30am. Funeral services will be held 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown.
