Obituary for Anthony "Tony" Pesco

Anthony Pesco, 90, of East Windsor, NJ passed away February 22, 2017.

Anthony (“Tony”) Pesco’s amazing life story begins when he was born in the Bronx, New York. However, when he was 5 years old, his family returned to Sicily, where he grew up in the farming town of Sciara. Those early years would imprint upon the young Tony the knowledge and passion for farming and gardening, which he would later develop into a thriving landscaping and gardening business that would put four children through college and graduate school.

At the age of 21, he returned to New York where he hoped to find his version of the American Dream. In those early years, he worked several different part time and full time jobs. Tony had dreams beyond his early jobs and a heart of an artist (even tried his hand at singing). He developed quite a talent for photography and enjoyed taking pictures of the people and places that surrounded him. His creativity and keen problem solving skills flourished into a love of creating and building things for both decorative and practical reasons. Tony always knew that education was the key to open the door for his dreams so he went to night school to learn English and further his basic education.

While Tony was thriving and developing his life in America, there was one piece of his life that was still in Italy. He returned to Sicily to see if Margherita Talamo would become his wife. They remained married for nearly 62 years.

Tony Pesco was an incredibly strong man with a gentle spirit. He was extremely intelligent, creative and determined. He always put his family first and worked his entire life to support and better the lives of those he loved. He was a devoted and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

He never slowed down and refused to grow old. His passing comes a surprise to all who knew and loved him because it seemed that this hardy and vibrant man would live to be at least a 100. At 90, he was still living his life as a man 20 years younger. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who loved him. His legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends.
