Obituary for Kingdon J Grover

Kingdon J. Grover, 89, of East Windsor died Friday, February 24 at home with his loving family by his side. Born in Claxton, GA; he resided in the East Windsor area for 75 years.

Mr. Grover was retired after 32 years with McGraw-Hill in East Windsor. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the US Navy SeaBees. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church in Hightstown; he loved wood working and making bird houses. Kingdon also enjoyed the time he spent around his home and his pride and joy was doing yard work and gardening. He enjoyed bowling and played in the McGraw-Hill Bowling League. He was an avid NY Mets fan; family time was considered his most important time in his life.

Predeceased by his parents, Kingdon J. and Emma Grimmes Grover, he is survived by his wife of 69 years, Isabel Vacca Grover, one daughter, Sharon M Grover Henry, one grandson, Ryan J. Henry, two sisters, Julia Etta Hubble and Alta Shimko and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Burial will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. In lieu of flowers donations in Kingdon’s name may be made to the American Heart Association or to St. Anthony of Padua RC Church.
