Obituary for Richard L Cranstoun Sr.

Richard L Cranstoun Sr., 97, of East Windsor, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Hamilton Continuing Care Center. Born in Dutch Neck, NJ he was a area resident his entire life.

Mr. Cranstoun was a potato farmer in East Windsor until 1962 and later worked for National Lead & Tool until his retirement in 1984. Richard was a First Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, where he served as a pilot in the European Theatre during World War II.

Predeceased by his parents, George Sr. and Helen Cranstoun, his wife of 68 years Julia Marie “Sis” Nee: Byrne Cranstoun and his brother, George E. Cranstoun Jr.; he is survived by two sons and daughter in-laws, Richard L. Cranstoun Jr. (Sandra) of Wisconsin; Douglas J. Cranstoun (Sallie) of East Windsor, New Jersey; one niece, Patricia Conklin, 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The family would like to thank Richard’s HCCC family for their loving care. Dad, Pop, Pop Pop and Old Pop: We will miss you very much’

Private family burial of cremains will be held at Lawrenceville Cemetery, Lawrenceville. In lieu of flowers donations in Richard’s name may be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude’s Children Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, Hightstown, NJ.
