Obituary for Eugene F O'Connor

Eugene F  O'Connor
Eugene O’Connor, 83, of East Windsor, passed away peacefully at Meadow Lakes, Sunday, April 8, 2018. Born in New York City, he resided in East Windsor for the past 53 years.

Gene served in the US Army where he was a Captain in the Corp of Engineers. He was a member of St Anthony of Padua RC Church where he served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister and was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Hightstown Council #6284. He served on the board of trustees for the local chapter of the United Way and was an AIA Architect where he worked in his own firm for 40 years until his retirement. Gene was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, a passion he passed on to his kids and grandkids.

Predeceased by his beautiful wife Susan “Suzy” O’Connor whom he loved and adored, Gene is survived by his two daughters, son and their spouses: Jacqueline and William Brennan, Jennifer and Richard Piepszak and Gavin and Marybeth O’Connor. He had nine grandchildren and he cherished them all: Ryan, Jack, Danielle, Kate, Kiera, Liam, Will, Cole, and Owen.

Calling hours will be held from 1pm to 4pm, Wednesday, April 11, at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following the viewing at 4pm. A Celebration of Life will be held following Mass at Forsgate Country Club starting at 6pm. Private family burial will be held Thursday at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gene’s name may be made to: Felician Sisters of North America (ref. Haiti Mission) 871 Mercer Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 Arrangements are under the direction of the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520.
