Obituary for Mary B Whitlock

Mary Louise Bradley Whitlock was called home Friday November 2nd 2018, surrounded by her family. Mary, the daughter of William and Marguerite Bradley, was born October 17, 1945 in Perth Amboy, NJ. She graduated Hillside High School in 1963, and received a degree in elementary and secondary education from Albright College in 1967. On August 4th 1973 she married Myron Whitlock. For 10 years she taught at Herbert Hoover Middle School in Edison, NJ. Mary is survived by her husband Myron of 45 years, son Donald, his wife Regina, grandchildren Jack, Noah and Katelyn, daughter Alison and grandson Jason, her sister Ann Bradley, sister in-law Peg Bradley, nephew and niece Bill and Erin Bradley, cousin John Cook and family. Mary was predeceased by her brother Bill Bradley.
Mary was an active member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Cranbury, NJ. A loving wife and mother, Mary stayed at home to raise her children. In 1988 she returned to teaching at the Melvin H. Kreps School in East Windsor, NJ. She worked to make a difference in her students’ education until she retired in 2008. After teaching, Mary went back to school and became a Master Gardener in Mercer County.
Mary enjoyed many friendships throughout her life. She was devoted to her family, enjoyed knitting, and was an avid reader. She participated in book clubs. She will be remembered fondly by many people.
Burial Office and Requiem Eucharist will be offered 1100am on Thursday, Nov. 8, at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 90 South Main Street, Cranbury NJ 08512 with the Rev. Mother Karin Mitchell presiding. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 5 pm to 8pm at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown NJ 08520. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name may be made to St. David’s Episcopal Church 90 South Main Street, Cranbury NJ.
