Miriam Louise Danser Applegate, 80, passed peacefully into the gates of Heaven July 7, 2013 surrounded by her family. Miriam was born February 6, 1933 in Trenton, NJ.

She was the daughter of the late Hilman and Evelyn Oehler Danser and sister of the late Richard Danser and Ronald Danser. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Kenneth M. Applegate, a daughter, sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Jr. (Elizabeth), Jeffrey (Kathryn) and daughter Cynthia (Joe); grandchildren, Courtney, Kenneth M. III, Kenneth, Kenneth C., Elizabeth, Christopher, Casey, Erin, David, Ben and Alex, brother Robert and several nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of the Hightstown High School Class of 1951. After high school she worked as a patent secretary for RCA in Princeton, NJ before retiring to raise her family. She returned to work as a clerk for the Walter C. Black School in The East Windsor Regional School District, retiring in 2000. Miriam loved her church family and was a 70 year active member of The First United Methodist Church of Hightstown. She sang in the FUMC Senior Choir and enjoyed many activities as a member of the Autumn Club. Miriam enjoyed family time above all and spent her entire life caring for others. She will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held 10am at the First United Methodist Church of Hightstown, 187 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Interment will follow at Westminster Cemetery, Cranbury. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520, and Thursday from 9am until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers she requested donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hightstown, PO Box 137, Hightstown, NJ 08520.
