Nabil Louis Ata, died at the age of 73 on January 30, 2015.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Hadia Ata; his daughter Nancy Lee and her husband Peter Lee; his sons Nader and Alexander Ata; his brother Maher Ata and his wife Sonia; and his grandchildren Sophia and Vivienne Lee.

Nabil was born August 8, 1941 in El-Minia, Egypt to Louis and Alice Ata. He was raised in Egypt and immigrated to the United States in April of 1972.
He married Hadia Ata in 1974.

Nabil began working for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) on March 17, 1975 as an account and retired on March 30, 2007 as the Deputy Director of Finance. He earned his Masters Degree from Long Island University in 1976.

Nabil was known as a sharp dresser with a great smile. He loved to tell jokes, cook, garden, and take pictures.
