Maria Zurawik, 85, of Millstone died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at her residence. Born in New Milford, New Jersey, she lived on her family farm in Robbinsville before moving to Millstone 55 years ago.

Maria was a graduate of Allentown High School Class of 1949. After high school she received her diploma from the Starr Allen Arts & Sciences School in New York City. She had worked for GM in Trenton before her retirement and was an active member in the 469 Retired Teamsters Union Support Group as well as the Millstone Senior Citizens Club. Maria also loved to spend time at Lake Monroe in Pennsylvania where she owned a home. Maria was a very independent and strong woman who could be seen on her tractor mowing her lawn even at the age of 83 years.

She was predeceased by her life companion of 52 years, John Cannon, her parents, Anthony and Maria Zurawik, two sisters, Gloria Zurawik and Helen Szczukowski. She is survived by several extended family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Monday, August 24 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Calling hours will be held at the church from 10am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown. Arrangements are under the direction of the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, Hightstown.
