Obituary for Mary T Van Handel

Mary T Van Handel, 105, of East Windsor died Tuesday, Jan. 12 at the Elms of Cranbury. Born in Newark she was a life time area resident. She was a lifetime member of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church and was a former member of the Alter Rosary Society of the church.

For many years she with her late husband worked their produce stand at the Trenton Farmers Market and later with her daughter and son-in-law where she loved to be.

Wife of the late James Van Handel, mother-in-law of the late Lillian Mancuso Van Handel and Garret (Bud) Docherty, Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Van Handel Docherty, her son, James Van Handel, six grandchildren, Debbie A. and her husband Richard Rosetty, Karen J. and her husband Mark Elias, James Van Handel III and his wife Barbara, Suzanne Specca, Joseph P. Van Handel and Kathi Gabriel, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, her brother, Henry Estenes and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:30am at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Friends may call Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Donations in Mary’s memory would be appreciated to the St. Anthony of Padua Building Fund, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520.
