Richard M. Hutchinson, 76, of Cranbury passed away at his residence April 2, 2016. Born in the family house in Cranbury he was an area resident his entire life.

Richard worked as a carpenter for Local # 254 until his retirement. He was a 53 year member of the Cranbury Vol. Fire Company, where he served as Chief from 1995 – 1999 and Secretary of the Cranbury Fireman’s Relief Association. He was a member of the New Jersey Exempt Fireman’s Assoc., New Jersey Vol. Fire Chief’s Assoc. and the State Fire Chief’s Association.

Predeceased by his wife, Shelia Hutchinson; parents, Harvey and Genevieve Hutchinson; three brothers, Harvey, Robert and Leroy Hutchinson; one sister, Dorothy Thompson. He is survived by two brothers, John Hutchinson and his wife Elouise; George Hutchinson and his companion Gail; brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Joseph and Donna O’Gorman, brother-in-law; John Thompson, sisters-in-law, Beverly Hutchinson, Alice Hutchinson and Lucy Hutchinson. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Funeral services will be held 11am on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury. In lieu of flowers donations in Richard’s name may be made to the Cranbury Vol. Fire Company, 2 South Main Street, Cranbury NJ 08512.
