Obituary for Russell Warren "Russ" Yetman

Russell (Russ) Warren Yetman, 32, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, after a brief illness, with his loving parents by his side.

Born in Princeton, NJ on March 1, 1985, Russ always lived life to the fullest, and had a lifelong love of cars. He learned to drive at the age of 12 and could drive just about anything, from his Dad’s Model A Fords to farm tractors, heavy machinery, motorcycles and Lamborghinis. Russ was happiest when he was behind the wheel of a vehicle.

At the time of his passing, he was employed as an Equipment manager with Traffic Safety Service (TSS) in South Plainfield. Russ loved his job and the people he worked with, and was very proud of the work he did.

Russ was a loving son, brother and loyal friend. Predeceased by his grandparents, Walter Jr. Yetman and Effie (Wines) Yetman Derby and Elwood and Gladys (Peterson) Hansel, he leaves behind to cherish and remember him his parents, Walter III and Susan (Hansel) Yetman, his brother, Walter Michael and sister-in-law Michelle of Los Angeles, CA; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and all of his friends in Driving Force Club.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for their outstanding care and compassion during Russ’s illness. They especially thank Dr. Jacob (Jack) Guttsche, Dr. Sean Harbison and Dr. Emily Gordon for their hard work and long hours in trying everything humanly possible to help Russ. Dr. Gordon told us at the beginning of Russ’s illness that this journey was a “marathon, not a sprint”. Russ was a fighter to the end and he ran a good race. Russ completed the marathon when he passed into the arms of our loving God.

We also thank the countless family, friends and coworkers worldwide who lifted all of us up in prayer during this journey.

Visitation will be held 4pm to 8pm Wednesday, May 24 at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. A brief service honoring Russ will be held at 8pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Russ’s honor to, Center for Anesthesia Research, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Penn Medicine Development and Alumni Relations, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
