Obituary for Paula Schilling

Paula Seiler Schilling, of Meadow Lakes in East Windsor, NJ and formerly of Cherry Hill and Columbus, NJ passed away Monday, September 18, 2017. She was the wife of the late Werner O. Schilling and daughter of the late Sigmund and Mina Seiler. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Karcich. Born October 16, 1924 in Switzerland, Paula went to school and worked in the family business in Switzerland prior to coming to New York in 1947 where she met Werner. They were married in 1950. After living in New York, they moved to Cherry Hill, NJ where they raised their family and resided for 48 years. Paula was very dedicated to her family and her Catholic faith. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Hightstown. Some of her hobbies included reading, gardening, cards (bridge), crossword puzzles and sewing. She enjoyed playing board games and cards with her grandchildren and she loved to travel. She especially enjoyed her bridge groups at Meadow Lakes. She was also an avid dog lover. She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Schilling (James Golubieski) of Cranbury, NJ, Christine Schilling of Stamford, CT, Karen (Michael) Karcich of Mt. Prospect, IL, and her son, Oscar (Kristine) Schilling of West Chester, PA. Paula is also survived by five granddaughters, Alicia (Glenn) Braksator of Glenmore, PA, Kathryn (Mark) Rider of Philadelphia, PA, Laura (Douglas) Bloomstein of Morristown, NJ, Theresa Golubieski of Hoboken, NJ, Rachel Karcich of Mt. Prospect, IL, and one Grandson, Matthew Golubieski of Hoboken, NJ. She also had 5 great grandchildren, Owen Braksator, Carly Braksator, Avery Braksator, Campbell Rider and Madeline Bloomstein. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sigmund Seiler, Alfred Seiler, and two sisters, Trudi Wehrli, Mina Vock.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Meadow Lakes Residents Assistance Fund, 300 Meadow Lakes, East Windsor, NJ 08520.
