Obituary for Charles L Bowers

Charles L. Bowers, 82, of Quincy Village, Waynesboro, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at the Quincy Village Nursing Home. Born in Hightstown, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles T and Florence (Holmes) Bowers.
Charles was born and raised on a farm in Hightstown, NJ. He attended Hightstown High School, Class of 1942 and the School of Industrial Arts, Trenton, NJ. He worked as a parts manager for C.O. Smith and C.H. Robeson Farm Equipment and territory manager for AVCO New Idea Farm Equipment. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America in Hightstown, NJ. He was a member of the Quincy United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and a member of the Quincy Village Model Railroad Club. He traveled all 50 states and several foreign countries with his wife, Marion.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marion (Hutchison) Bowers; his sons, Barry C. Bowers of Hamilton, NJ; Robert J. Bowers (wife Gail) of Hamilton Square, NJ; Jeffrey L. Bowers of Hamilton, NJ and Richard D. Bowers (wife Trudy) of Chambersburg, PA; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and sister, Marielle Wiggins of Beaufort, SC..
Charles was predeceased by his sister, Frances Pickering.
A graveside service will be held 11am on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown, NJ. A memorial service will be held 11am on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Quincy United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Quincy United Methodist Church, 8734 Anthony Hwy, Waynesboro, PA 17268 or Benevolent Care Fund at Quincy Village, 6596 Orphanage Rd, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Arrangements are under the direction of Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton St., Hightstown, NJ.
