Matilda “Tillie” Marinello, East Windsor, 93 passed away peacefully at The Elms of Cranbury on April 26, 2018, surrounded by her children. Born in Brooklyn, NY. She was married to Joseph “Sonny” Marinello until his death on June 5, 1975. She moved to Monroe Twp. in 1990 then later to East Windsor, NJ. She loved playing softball as a young girl. Her favorite pastimes were doing word finds, coloring, sewing, and most importantly visits with family and friends. She was a seamstress by trade until her retirement. Daughter of the late John and Olympia Gentile (Velardi), loving and devoted wife of the late Joseph Marinello, Sr. who was the “love of her life”. Matilda is survived by her daughter Geri, of Monroe Twp., Joanne Aronson & her husband Joel, of Hamilton Twp. her son & caregiver, Joseph Jr., of East Windsor & his partner Mark. Her daughter Angela and her husband Ray of Monroe Twp. She was predeceased by her daughter Helena Meli & her husband Rosario, of Middletown NY, her daughter AnnMarie Marinello & son-in-law Louis R. Prato of Brooklyn NY, and her son-in-law, Billy Stern of Monroe Twp. She was so proud of her 9 Grandchildren, Rosario, Starr, Willie, Season, AlexisAnn, Bobby, Frank, Andy & RaeAnne and their spouses as well as 5 loving great-grandchildren, Avery, Logan, Sylvie, Aubrey & Brexleigh. She is predeceased by 4 beautiful sisters, 3 loving brothers. Survived by her sister Gloria & brother Arthur and countless nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 4pm- 8pm at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church in Hightstown, NJ. Interment will follow at Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island NY.
