Gladys grew up in Jamesburg, NJ, eventually moving to New Brunswick and attending New Brunswick High School where she and John met. Upon graduating, she attended secretarial school and enjoyed a long career culminating in her position as a Manager at IBM in Dayton, NJ.
Gladys had many interests outside of her work. First and foremost, she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also deeply involved with her church, The First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury, where she was a faithful member for over 50 years, serving as both a Deacon and Elder. Gladys gave much of herself to her community, serving as President of the Junior Women’s Club of North Brunswick and several terms as President of the Cranbury Women’s Club. As President, she instituted the Easter Egg Hunt for the children of Cranbury, a tradition which continues to this day, and organized many fashion shows raising funds for educational scholarships. Gladys was an avid tennis player and accomplished seamstress. Using skills learned from her mother, she made many Halloween costumes for her beloved grandchildren. In later years, she and John shared many wonderful trips abroad with friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 10am at the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury, 22 South Main Street, Cranbury, NJ. Burial will follow at Brainerd Cemetery in Cranbury.
