Obituary for Donna A Goodson

Mrs. Donna Alexis (Mack) Goodson born to the late Mr. & Mrs. L. Homer Mack on February 26,
1949 in Covington, VA departed this life on July 10, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Donna was educated in the Covington Public school system graduating from Covington High
School. She continued her education at Virginia Seminary and College (now Virginia College)
receiving an Associate Degree in Business.
After receiving her degree she moved to Franklin Park, NJ. She was employed by National
Chemsearch Mohawk Labs where she worked for 48 years, retiring from the company in 2015.
She received the Lord Jesus as her Savior at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist
Church in Covington, VA. She later joined Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Hightstown, NJ where
she assisted with the youth choir. Later she moved her membership to New Horizon Baptist
Church in Groveville, NJ.
Some of her Community activities included; being a member of CJBS for 35 years; Donna was
Past Worthy Matron of Aaron Chapter #8 ; Past Illustrious Commandress of Khufu Court #118
and Loyal Lady of Lady Orchid Assembly #44; she traveled throughout the U.S., the Caribbean
and Central America; she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. One of her
favorite activities was crafting, she made beautiful flower arrangements for friends and family.
She was preceded in death by one sister Gay Lynn Twitty. Donna is survived by her husband of
49 years, George Goodson, Jr; three children; George Anthony (Kim) Goodson of New Haven,
Conn.; Kimberly (William) Scott, East Windsor, NJ; Gayle (Nathaniel) Gainey, Hightstown, NJ;
four grandchildren, Jordan, Donovan (Elizabeth), Olivia, Erilynn; one great-grandson, Lucas;
five sisters, Sandy DeCohen, Mt. Holly, NC, Brenda Holloway, Linda Venable and Gloria Pierce
of Covington, VA;, Pamela Cannon (Charlie)Portsmouth, VA ; one brother-in-law, Gary Twitty,
Covington, VA. A dear friend, Linda Ludwig of Richmond, VA and a host of nieces, nephews,
and friends.
