Obituary for Dorothy A Gehery
Dorothy “Dottie” Alice Gehery, 80, of Hamilton, passed away October 15, 2022, with her family by her side.
She was born to the late John “Jack” and Dorothy “Dot” Okie, October 15, 1942, in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. Dottie graduated from Rancocas Valley High School in 1960. She was a nurse’s aide who spent decades taking care of the elderly and the sick. She loved to read and many of our childhood memories were spending time at the local library. She loved to draw flowers and was perfecting her skill at drawing animals. She loved to decorate and could turn any Christmas tree into holiday magic.
She was married to the late Robert Gehery in 1983, and they lived together in Hamilton for nearly forty years. Dottie is survived by two children: Teri Bozowski of West Windsor and Sean Rowan of Wildwood. She is also survived by her grandson, Austin Bozowski. Dottie was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Dot, her twin sister, Gail Talley, and her loving husband, Robert.
She was our mother, our friend, our confidant and sometimes our “shrink”. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be missed terribly.
Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dottie’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the ASPCA.
