Edward James Foran of East Windsor passed away on November 16, 2022 at the age of 76. He was born in Fitchburg, MA and grew up in Ewing and Hamilton, NJ.
Known as an athlete in his youth, Ed was the captain of his football team in high school. Ed served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War veteran. He later attended Trenton State College where he met the love of his life and eventual wife, Sherri, in history class. They remained married and best friends for 48 years.
Ed was a police officer with the West Windsor Police Department for 20 years. He was a NY Giants fan, a strategy board games enthusiast, an avid history buff (especially the Civil War), and a fantasy football fan. He was known for his humor and quick wit. His grandchildren adored him and spending time with them was one of his greatest joys.
Son of the late James and Gloria (St. Cyr) Foran and brother of the late Vincent Paul Foran, he is survived by his sister Renée and brother-in-law Jack Ryan; his brother James and sister-in-law Kathy Foran; his wife Sherri; his son Collin Foran of Hamilton; his daughters and their husbands, Kelly and Bruce Lozito of Bordentown; Erin and Matthew Massing of Mantua; and Lauren and David Strober of Cranford. He has six grandchildren: Grace, Cameron, Leo, Owen, Frank, and Ava, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 20, from 4:00–7:00, and a service will be held on Monday, November 21, at 11:00 at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home in Hightstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
