Obituary for Leona A Wainwright

Leona A. Wainwright, born in Princeton, NJ on July, 18, 1945, passed away at her home in Toms River, NJ, on November 16, 2022. She graduated from Lakewood High School in 1963 and married her husband of over 50 years, Stanley L. Wainwright, in 1964. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her boys and families, shopping and the beach. She was a devoted mom and grandmother and she will be missed tremendously.
She is predeceased by her parents, Leon and Ruth Allen, her husband, Stanley L. Wainwright and her sister, Roberta Forsberg. Surviving are her sons, Darrin Wainwright, wife Lori, children Hillary Cicero and her husband Daniel, great granddaughters, Alaina, Kailey and Bria; Kassandra Penn, husband Thomas and Daria Wainwright; Brian Wainwright, wife Tracie, children Nicholas Wainwright and Tyler Wainwright; and Shawn Wainwright, wife Jessica, son Marcus Christodoro. She is also survived by a brother, Arthur Allen and his wife Anita along with many nieces and nephews.
Grammy, Mom-Mom and Grandma as she was called by her grandchildren was known for her beautiful tan skin, making the best cookies, her love of General Hospital and Rick Springfield, her super long hair always in a neat bun and always having exactly what was needed on hand. She was also a long time member of the Ocean County String Band.
She will be cremated and burial will be private with arrangements through the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home in Hightstown, NJ.
