Obituary for Rose M Eller

Rose M. Eller, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and teacher, passed away peacefully at
home on April 10, 2023 at age 98.
Rose spent her childhood with her parents, brother, and 3 sisters on a farm in Plainsboro. She
later married William Eller and the couple had two daughters, Linda and Diane. She attended
Douglass College at Rutgers and obtained her Masters there. Rose had a long and fulfilling
teaching career at Hightstown High School, where she retired as head of the Foreign Language
Dept. Rose loved to travel and did so extensively all over Europe, North America, and the
Caribbean, as well as the South Pacific. Rose was active in many civic groups throughout her
life, as well as the Cranbury Public Library, and her church. She loved reading, refinishing
furniture, and cooking wonderful holiday meals for her extended family.
Rose will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind and caring person, always willing to
help anyone in need. She loved a good joke and always looked on the bright side of life. Her
patience, smile, and hugs will be sorely missed.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her daughter, Diane, and her sister, Louise.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Dellaria and husband Sam, son-in-law Kevin Smith,
granddaughters Alyssa Dellaria-Worthey and husband Will, and Erin Smith and husband Shane,
as well as her brother Ben, and sisters Josephine and Frieda, along with many nieces and
nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Rose’s friends, Barbara, Stephanie, and Betty for
being there for her whenever needed in her later years.
If you wish to make a donation in memory of Rose, please plant a tree in Rose’s name through
the Arbor Day Foundation - one of her favorite charities. A private memorial service and
interment will be held at a later date by request of the family.
