Margaret M. Lemieux, 91, of Brick, formerly of Jackson, passed away peacefully at her residence at Brandywine at the Gables on Sept. 23, 2015. Born in the Bronx to Thomas and Mary McGovern, Mrs. Lemieux was raised in Forest Hills, Queens and graduated from Our Lady of Wisdom Academy. She was employed by New York Life as a secretary and met her future husband Eugene Lemieux, the bus driver on her commute to work. They moved to Hightstown, NJ where they raised their eight children and worked together in family business.
Mrs. Lemieux was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church n Lakehurst, where she served on the Altar Rosary Society and as a Chaplin. Mrs. Lemieux was also an active member of Seniors Who Care, Jackson Seniors and the Twilighters Song and Dance Revue. Her passion was teaching line dancing at senior communities in the Jackson area.
Mrs. Lemieux lived an abundant, happy life and will always be remembered for her sense of humor, appreciative laugh and her smiling Irish eyes. She was a women of strong faith, a legacy she leaves to her family, to whom she was deeply devoted.
Mrs. Lemieux was predeceased by her husband Eugene Lemiex and her daughter Jeanne Marie Bryan. She is survived by her son Raymond E. Lemieux of Wrightstown, NJ; her daughter Margaret L. Michalchuk of Cranbury, NJ; her daughter and son-in-law Dolores and George Colonna of Onley, VA; her daughter Marian Lemieux-DeVito of Levittown, PA; her daughter and son-in-law Catherine and Richard Troger of Point Pleasant, NJ; her son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Patricia Lemieux of Belle Haven, VA; her son and daughter-in-law Colonel (Ret.) Robert and Amy Lemieux of Fairfax, VA; 16 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Lemieux also leaves behind her Grace Healthcare Angels, Jani, Holly, Olga and Elizabeth as well as her loving extended family at Brandywine at the Gables Senior Living.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, New Jersey. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Franklin Street, Hightstown, New Jersey. Cremation will be private.
