Genevieve J. Hummel, 72, of Hightstown died Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Elms of Cranbury. Born in Trenton, she was a lifetime resident of Hightstown.
Mrs. Hummel was a graduate of Hightstown High School Class of 1961. She was engaged for many years in home child care and had a great love of children and animals. She was most of all a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Daughter of the late Walter and Eva Sweeney she was the wife of the late Wayne R. Hummel and twin sister of the late George Sweeney, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Angela D. Krall (John S. III), one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne R. Hummel II (Lauren), her grandchildren, Mark Carlisi (Sarah), John IV, Tyler, Christopher, Dylan, Gavin, Emersyn and Avery, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Beverly A. Conelly (Thomas) and Virginia L. Teffenhart (Kenneth), one brother, William F. Sweeney (Donna), her sister-in-law, Nancy Sweeney and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Funeral services will follow at 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Genevieve’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
