Cornelius “Neil” O’Brien, 77, of Cranbury, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 24th, 2016 at University Medical Center of Princeton. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m and 6 to 8 p.m. at Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street in Hightstown, NJ 08520. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 1st at 11 a.m. at St. David the King Roman Catholic Church, 1 New Village Road in West Windsor, NJ 08550. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA. Born in the Bronx, NY, he also lived in West Windsor for nearly 20 years before moving to Cranbury 11 years ago. He was a graduate of CCNY Class of 1960. He served in the U.S. Army Language School in Monterey, California before serving in Germany (1960-1963). He was the Director of the Budget for the New York City Courts until his retirement in 2010. He was a parishioner of St. David the King Roman Catholic Church of West Windsor and also a member of St. David the King Knights of Columbus Council.
Beloved husband of 40 years to Lorraine (nee Marino) O’Brien. Devoted father to Cynthia Leahy (Stephen) and Neil O’Brien (Kimberly). Cherished grandfather to 4 beautiful grandchildren Jack, Kate and Luke Leahy and Henry O’Brien. Dear brother to Nora Molner, Kathleen Devlin and the late Maureen Kalenka. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and dear friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
