Barry Walter Mader passed away on Monday April 11, 2016 at the age of 73 in Monroe, GA where in lived for the last 10 years. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Walter and Mary Mader.
Barry grew up in Sayreville, NJ and in his early 20’s while working at a warehouse in Jamesburg he met and married Cecelia, his wife of 53 years. Barry then raised his family in Hightstown and worked as the plant Engineer for Coca Cola Foods for 25 years before retiring in 1998. He had many passions throughout his life: tennis, singing, guitars, motorcycles, travel, eating, and model railroading. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, his family was the most important thing in his life. Barry was such a huge presence and he will be greatly missed.
Barry is survived by his wife, Cecelia Mader, two sons: Steve Mader and his wife Julie of Burlington, NJ, Barry Mader II of Lawrenceville, GA and three daugthers: Nancy Spero and her husband Michael of Williamstown, NJ, Lorraine Mader of Phoenix, AZ, and Dawn Urstadt of Lawrenceville, GA. He is also survived by his brother, Scott Mader of South Amboy, NJ as well as 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 2pm on May 14th at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 1pm until the time of the service.
