My old neighbor

My old neighbor Wayne was quite something. Wayne was 5 years older than me and yet he treated me like any of his other friends his age. In fact, he made me feel as his equal in many instances. To name 2, I remember one time when we were slap-fighting. He loved to slap fight, and so did I. Now remember, he was 5 years older than me, his arms were long and he was quick. But this one time we were slap fighting in front of my garage, and this day I was getting in some good ones, in spite of my lack of arm length or quickness. But this day was different. Of course, I now know why. Wayne let me win. He could have taken me at any time but that's the way he was. He liked to make others fell good about themselves, and he sure did for me this day. I also remember we used to go into his house into his bedroom where he would put on Steppenwolf on his record player. That's how I came to know this excellent band. Then we would go to his kitchen and he would make us tuna fish sandwiches. These are just 2 of the special times I will always remember about this cool, funny, and caring man.
