Louis Carlomagno , 86, of East Windsor passed away at home on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Born in Palisades Park, NJ, he grew up in Secaucus and later resided in East Windsor.
Lou attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and then was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was employed by Sterling Drug until his retirement in 1988 when he then became a school crossing guard in East Windsor for 15 years. A member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Hightstown, Lou was a founding charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #6284.
A member of Brooktree Swim Club, Lou loved the game of tennis and had a brilliant serve. His favorite spot was Long Beach Island (where he took Dolores on their first date), the Yankees and dining out with his family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents and two sisters, his is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dolores, his daughter Danielle and husband Kirk, 3 step grandchildren, Ashley, Juliana and Marissa, sister, Rose Heck, many nieces and nephews and his granddogs, Bosco and Mocha.
Calling hours will be held from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday, June 3 and also from 9am-10am on Monday, June 4 at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton St, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am Monday, June 4 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520.
