Dearest Nicole,
This heartbreaking news was sent to me through a friend and it has been very surreal. I know we lost touch, so many, many years ago, but I remember you perfectly. Regardless of what path you've walked I will remember you as the teeny tiny Nicole (with the chicken legs that you embraced with such spunk) who loved the Oriental Ramen (blue package; but no green things. They, of course, always had to be picked out. The Nicole who taught me to heat Chips Ahoy cookies for 16 seconds in the microwave. A hidden, yet valuable piece of information that I've passed on to so many people. The Nicole who always, always, always had Herbal Essence shampoo and conditioner. The Nicole who loved sleep overs and putting up great away messages on AIM. The Nicole who loved EVERYONE. Who had the biggest heart and smile to go along with it. Who could cheer you up no matter how down you were. The Nicole who was always up for an adventure. Good times, priceless memories, and great friendships.
I will forever remember the start up sound of AOL on the computer in your room! The midnight walks to visit friends on the corner The lazy days spent in the pool. The COUNTLESS hours of playing Mario and Super Mario on the game systems in your basement. Your dad dropping us off down town to hang with friends, and who would always come pick us up at 2am. The goofy dance moves you had. One of my favorites: spending hours laying on your driveway at night looking up at the night sky. We coined the term falling star, which I have also taught and shown many people. So now when I see my next shooting star...or falling star, I'll take it as a sign, of you saying hello from up above watching everyone down here who loves you.
I wish you endless sunshine and happy days. May you always have a smile on your face. I hope you are not "resting in peace" where you are, but rather raising heck and making everyone get up and dance!! A beautiful soul taken untimely from this world. Make a change up there, and make this world a better place for us down here will ya?? You'll always been in my fondest memories and happiest of thoughts.
Love,
Shannon
