Christmas Morning
One of my greatest childhood memories was going to my grandparent's house for Christmas morning breakfast. Each year, Apitita and Cuco would host our traditional Cuban Christmas Eve dinner. Apitita would always let us call the "Santa Hotline" to see how close Santa was to our house. We would race home late at night and go right to bed. On Christmas morning, after opening our presents at home, we would immediately get dressed and couldn't wait to go back to Apitita and Cuco's for the long-standing tradition of Christmas morning breakfast with the entire family. It was not to be missed by anyone. We continued celebrating Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at my grandparent's house well into my adulthood and I am thankful I was able to share this wonderful memory with my husband, Mike for a few years.
To this day, we continue to celebrate this Christmas morning breakfast tradition at my parent's house. And we have celebrated Christmas Eve many times at my house. I have often wondered if my love of hosting parties and family gatherings comes from Apitita. After all, I learned from the best!
